Why I Love My Pet Contest
Here is your chance to let everyone know how much your pet means to you. Tell us (in 100 words or less) why you love your pet. Selected essays will be posted on our website and each month one lucky entry will win a $100 gift certificate from BIG DOGS®, plus a special "Animal Rescue"/BIG DOGS® T-shirt. The top four runners-up will also receive T-shirts.

What a joy! We got our pug, Buddy, when he was just 6 weeks old. Due to a back injury, my days were empty until Buddy came along. He was my little life saver! His cute little face and tons of kisses is enough to heal anyone! He loves to play and he runs so fast! Buddy is the best puppy ever! Buddy is my best buddy and where you will find one of us, you will find the other. I love you Buddy!

I love Cody in the Window because he is always watching for me. He is the smartest dog, interested in everything and always alert. He is always in the window in the house or in the car. The other dogs may lie down and nap while they wait for us to return. But not Cody. Never Cody. His dear little head and sharp pointed ears are always there watching... waiting... and when we get back to the car, we all do the Dance of Joy, because he knows how much we love him. His name is Cody in the Window.

I have a pet ferret named Bandit that is like a circus animal. I call him Bandit because of look of a mask on his eyes. He is always getting into everything, making that special ferret sound, always acting strange like a ferret is known to do, and is definitely a packrat. I did not know of the packrat characteristic, till one time when I moved, I found a bunch of treats hidden under my bed that I have been given him for weeks.

My dogs name is Bear and he actually looked like a baby bear when he was a pup. I love him because even though I got him when he was abused he always manages to give his love back tenfold to everyone he comes in contact with.

I love my Dachshund Cinnamon because he's a very lovable dog. My husband got him for me our first Christmas together. When I was two years old, some friends of my parents gave me one for my birthday. I had her for about five years and then one day before Easter a guy ran her over on purpose. When I told my husband this he wanted to get me another one. Up until then I just never got another one. So he got me my Cinnamon. Cinnamon is just the best and I love him very much.
